Empowering Our Community Together

Our Mission & Vision

Fondation CMP exists to strengthen our communities by investing in meaningful local projects in education, healthcare, environmental protection, palliative and senior care, and programs for adults with disabilities. We focus on targeted initiatives that respond to real needs and create lasting impact.

Working both directly and in partnership with businesses and local organizations, we envision communities where thoughtful, well-directed projects improve quality of life, protect what matters most, and leave a positive legacy for future generations.

Our Purpose

Know us

Fondation CMP was founded in the 1990s by Hans Zimmermann, who believed that giving back should be intentional, local, and rooted in real impact. What began as a philanthropic trust grew into a structured foundation focused on community-driven support. For many years, the foundation was guided by John Zimmermann, whose leadership helped carry the family’s values forward and deepen its commitment to thoughtful, project-based giving.

Today, the foundation is led by Steve Zimmermann and Janet Hylland, continuing this family legacy with a hands-on approach to philanthropy. Their focus remains true to the foundation’s beginnings: supporting initiatives that create lasting value for individuals, families, and future generations in the Montréal region.

The foundation takes a project-based approach to giving, identifying needs within the community and providing targeted support where it can make the greatest difference. All initiatives are carefully evaluated to ensure alignment with our mission and long-term community impact.

Fondation CMP is structured so that 100% of all contributions go directly to the cause. No funds are allocated to administrative or overhead costs.
